A Sonnet for Fluffy

A Sonnet for Fluffy

A Poem by Lena
"

I once had 2 guinea pigs. One died in a tragic way. This is a sonnet for Fluffy.

"
The scent of dying lilac fills the air
In the place where I postpone time; space;
The very place where Death came and made a tear
In the place you dwelled in my heart; that place

Is still broken and bruised, not quite yet healed
Even though it was three summers ago
Feelings of sadness are still being feeled
And despair in my heart blooms like a rose

Regret has consumed me, I do confess
I wish I had been there to rip Fate apart
When you came, you brought me much happiness
But when you left me, sorrow stole my heart

When the waves of life are choppy and rough
I wish you were here, my darling, sweet Fluff.

I can feel the compassion you held for him throughout the piece. Losing a pet is always hard, but writing your emotions always seems to help. Overall amazing job. I loved it :)
