Mighty Men of ValorA Poem by Leticia ZInspired by the story in Daniel 3:20 of the men who threw Daniel, Meshach and Abednego into the fire. The mighty men were burned. They were big and bad. They were followers of a King. Staunch and secure in their position With the King.
Yet they traded their lives For an obedience to the Wrong source.
Daniel and his posse Were straight to the point. We will not eat from the King’s meat.
We will eat our veggies Our source comes from God. Not from the meat and wine of A raunchy King who serves a pine god.
The mighty men of valor died As they threw us in the pit of fire. We walked out smelling Of a walk with our God
The one who protected Us in the fire Danced with us in the fire And took us out of the fire.
