Measure of a Woman

Measure of a Woman

A Poem by Leticia Z
"

Written in response to seeing someone who measures me by the past and not by the present.

"

How do you measure my life?

Do you measure it by the amount of money in my bank account?

Then you value me very little.

If you measure it by the amount of people my smile has touched

then my value grows…

Because everyday my smiles goes out shining brightly.

No matter if I am worried, about who I am worried about

My smile shines brightly

Because Jesus lives in me

and no matter how you measure my life

what really matters is how Jesus measures me.

What does he see in me ?

What does he see in me?

that he chose me to get through the pain

to get to the joy.

He chose me to go through something bigger than me

to be a part of him

he chose me to shine for him

when I am walking down that path of life

floating through the airports

floating through my car

my happiness shines

God is with me,

Jesus is with me

I am happy that through  it all no matter what

through the sickness

through the pain

today

I am on a new level of Joy

a new path of Joy

It doesn’t matter how you measure me

You can measure me by one impression

you can measure me by that first impression

in 15 seconds you make that deduction

But a good book

a good person

is found in the quality of their statements

and the way they think

You see…life has been tough

its been rough

there have been times that I have put aside everything

to have a beautiful daughter

to be in her life

however you measure me

its up to you

but I choose to be measured by God
