BeforehandA Poem by Libby Carsons

And I thought, how wonderful this power is, Until you pulled away with such wind-blown speed, As if suddenly ashamed to have chosen me. And ever since then, my hands have been cold, As cold as the wish of you letting me know, That in the end, you would eventually leave, During the middle of Winter, leaving me alone to grieve.
