Love and Pain

Love and Pain

A Poem by Hari D

She was too innocent,
He was too arrogant.
Everything was different,
But a feeling was persistent.
He was full of friends and words,
She was at loss of both.
She loved him every much,
He was in awe of her.
But they never talked,
Never did they say anything.
The love grew but in their hearts,
Thinking of what they would say and what they would do.

Their friends decided things were too much,
Finally they got them to meet up somewhere.
She was waiting in the diner thinking of him,
He was driving with speed thinking of her.

Alas, life is but a cruel irony.
Before the first words could ever leave her lips,
The words for her admiration for him,
The words for her love for him,
Ooh, the words that she had thought of for so long.
She heard the words that broke her heart.

In the excitement of meeting her,
He never saw the truck coming.
His car, his body and his life got crushed,
Like the petals of the rose he was carrying.

And thus ended this unusual love story,
Where never once did either one said anything.
For too long they had it within them,
Not a word said, not a feeling shared.

Thinking of all opportunities when she could have told him,
Now she curses her self and ponders the life without him.

Changing for him, she speaks now,
But words of sadness & pain that brings a frown.
