Your words are 

like jagged edges

piercing through

my veins as each

syllable sinks ever 

so gently into the

void of my heart

Your words sitting 

on a park bench, 

ever so vague and 

malicious, waiting

for an innocent 

person to walk by,

not knowing they 

will soon encounter 

the spiteful words

you deliberately 

set upon them

With your ego

set up so high, 

and your self esteem 

ever so low, I will

be the one to

cover the words 

with unspoken 

syllabus you are 

too afraid to 

express, the 

unspoken feelings

your mother taught 

you to hide

Tonight, despite 

the pain you unleashed 

onto me like bees on honey,

I will heal your essence,

together we will be ok,

together we will make 

through another day.

The poem captures the wounding effect that words can have - and in a public space like a park graffiti can be like emotional vandalism. The poem not only confronts this egotistic/low self-esteem act but also offers a healing response towards stinging words that may have been uttered to the poet.

Very nice imagery, although I'm not too sure about the park bench scenario but that could just be me not understanding it properly or it could need a little more developing. I do love this piece though and I love the frustration in the beginning that begins to wane at the end. A very nice poem :)

When you pass a park bench, some people sit on it right? in this case, the person in this poem, left their harsh words on that park bench, awaiting an innocent person to walk by, sit on the bench and be hit with the offence words- It meaning, they feel the need to hurt anyone even complete strangers. I'm not so good at elaborating certain sentences in my poems, It's just a small meaning I understand myself and not a lot of people do. I guess in this sense I'll try and describe things differently and elaborate the poem more! I love constructive feedback so thank you so much for pointing that out! I'm glad you enjoyed it, I kinda rushed this one only because I haven't written a poem in a while. Nonetheless thank you :)
