Beach

Beach

A Poem by SpiceCookie
"

A girl's first morning at the beach!

"
It's morning.

I wake to the sound of waves.
Quiet and soothing,
A light swoosh repeating over and over again
Until I drift back into darkness.

I'm asleep again.

The sun brushes my skin.
Gentle and calm, yet bright and bold,
 Pushing warmth on me
Until I open my eyes.

I'm in the doorway.

A breeze glides past me,
Silent and smooth, cool and strong.
Then it drifts away and disappears
Until I need it again.

I walk outside.

I stand on the sand.
It's warmness, getting hotter as the sun rises higher,
starts at my feet and spreads up
Until it reaches the top of me.

I step into the water.

The water splashes by me.
It gets pushed out, but then it gets pulled in again,
Taking away sand and surrounding my feet
Until I step out with wet toes.

This is the beach.
