Hide And SeekA Poem by SpiceCookiea poem about loneliness and social anxiety
Today is a day
where the world is trying to play hide-and-seek and I am the seeker. But no matter how loud I yell no one comes out of hiding and I cannot find them. The streets are empty. The houses are empty. The trees are empty. There are no people here today. There is only water and stone, willows and fog, sun without warmth. I look up into the sky where not even a single cloud smiles down at me and feel the chill of a wind that isn't really there. The screams of someone crying out, for help, to be heard because she has been trapped inside herself for too long and there are words on her tongue that have fought wars to come out and shout and every time they are defeated, slain.
