Now

Now

A Poem by Donald Meikle

what is this gossam winged thought

That tickles in mind's secret corners

That stops my tongue in cheeked  reply

As hesitation wonders why

I'm haunted by the quest of why

Since e'er I learnt to spell

The ruminations of four muses bent

On leading me awry

And yet the laughter of their way

Convinces me to stay

In blissful dissarray

What was I trying to say?

The leaning warmth of  a four legged friend

Blowing softly into cold Spring breeze

Makes present tense a way of life

As toes curl in well tanned leather

This poem to me means you need to feel more free comfortable expressing
yourself, not holding back of who and what you are.
