Why?

Why?

A Poem by Donald Meikle
"

Blinking

"
looking at all those elipsoid gravities
Spinning like juggler's plates
As ghosts race bouncing madly
Keeping it all alive and balanced

Way out there through all the twisting complexity
Of galactic turbulence imitating thunderheads
Flashing life sparks of time space and motion
Pulling and pulling in infinite darknesses

A mote drifts across my eyeball as a tear forms
black dot of destiny headed for an upper eyelid
I blink and a thousand galaxies shift left then right
Seeking realignment in this infinite deadness

And once more I hear that eternally unanswered question
Why?
