In San Ity

In San Ity

A Poem by Donald Meikle

Is it just insanity playing a tune of different kind?
Rapt repeating echoes resonating in my mind
I looked upon a new leafed tree
Alone within a field
As sunlight filtered through it
in many flicker hues of teal
A shadow shape was dancing
to the soft sung song of breeze
I wondered as I watched enthralled
why had I really never seen
This waltzing maple Shade of green
How many times I've been here enjoying seasons fate
Not noticing the shadow shapes that sun and wind create
To entertain the sweet insane who so appreciate
