Ya' think?

Ya' think?

A Poem by Donald Meikle

Sometimes thoughtlessly meandering through foggy streets of memory
Hardly even knowing the trip is here, or is it?
Caught up in wonder as sunlight warms shoulders carrying hatless freedom
Not wanting to stop this frivolous frolic of meaningless moments
Holding a rake beside a swirling pile of last year's leaves
Enjoying that good feeling as this year's leaves open before me
And yet do my hands caress her in last night's half sleep
While breeze tickles neck hair keeping herring flies at bay
Randomness ricochets with the speed of humming birds
That arrived today to interrupt our morning hot tub coffee session.
