Death

Death

A Poem by Donald Meikle
"

Needless..........................It's an old one reposted

"
All those stars are suns
All of them have planets
None of them have life
A pessimist would think it a grave yard
An optimist would think it a challenge
Everyone should be made aware of what it is
Death
Beautiful in its complexity
But dead to the world
Anyone contemplating destruction
Or pollution should first look up
Into the dead of night
Then take a sip of water

This is simply
Frustration at man and his obsession with religion his denial of reality
forever ignoring or hindering seekers of knowledge
laughing at followers of reason
when every night it's there to see

oh yes. If you knew how often I had written about the sky, the moon, the stars and the sun just *willing* people to realise that even if they have a religion it is there for us to see, not some invisible being that we have to constantly search for... it's all there! But then I would be called a pagan as though it was some kind of dirty insult. Well, let them read their history books, I say.

Donald, I'm going to try and go through every one. You are an inspiration.
