Downtimer

A Poem by Donald Meikle
"

a song (one of many)

"
Did y ever write a song?
And then try t sing along
And find the words were getting in the way
Of a musical lament that y really hadnt meant
For someone youd just met along the way

Are y lonely?
Are y feelin kinda blue?
Is it only
That theres nothin you can do
To make it right

there are places in my life
Wrapped up and tied with strife
Stuffed and hidden deep inside my soul
As I walk with blinders flapping
Trying to avoid forgotten pain
I wonder if Ill ever sing again

Are y lonely
Feelin sorta blue?
Is it only
Coz theres nothin y cn do
To make it write?
