Emprovise

Emprovise

A Poem by Donald Meikle

To empathise

To see the world through poets eyes
To feel surprise
To feel the world through poets sighs
To waken to a clearer way to see
The little hidden touches of a brush
Highlighting what was missed in all the rush
Perhaps a glint of hidden joy In eyes
Of what was once a little boy
Or just a telehug to ease a rift
Re anchoring another set adrift

To empathise

We could all use a little more empathy at times, I think. Sometimes taking a slower walk is better than a brisk one. I like that you used *telehug. I'm starting to see just a tad of technology in today's poetry. It isn't always easy to make it work but you did a fine job of that. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, friend.

Love this one....so true without empathy no writer's words are worth much since without empathy there is no heart, passion or anything that makes a poem worth reading, which this one clearly is.
