Smile Shadows

Smile Shadows

A Poem by Donald Meikle

smile shadows flicker like summer glow worms
tintabulations multiply like creaky crickets
etherealilty fondles earlobes
as the sky presents almost freedom
and alone gets lost in finity
roll over and fluff the pillow
a hawk stood on prey today
looking at me as if I was next
uppity redtail
glaring redly
