A Good Buzz

A Good Buzz

A Poem by Donald Meikle
"

constant joy

"

Wet 'n wonderful Monday morn

Not a time to fret  'n mourn

Hummers muster steady fluster

Tongues a flick in feeders

Males chase in up and down

As ladies take their turns to feed

It's all a constant dance to light

My joy of life in need

These visitors of tiny feather

So fine to see in any weather

Prevent my feeling down

It hurts to even frown

Constant joy indeed. You play with words and evoke exactly the mood that you want the reader to get in I guess.

' Hummers muster steady fluster' - that phrase invites me further in, makes me smile, is so rhymic!

What a delightful poem, tis a happiness of letters. Thank you so much for sharing.

And bye the bye, birds at their feeders really fascinate me. Sometimes i can near see certain human beings at the Christmas table!

Now this reminds me of California and they are good memories. Memories of forty beats a minute.

Wonderful emotive poetry. Rhyming done right. I see many possible interpretations, which I always love in a poem. Thanks for sharing.
