Good Evenin'

Good Evenin'

A Poem by Donald Meikle

To sit with you in sweet content
As flinging food you cause the koi
To splash about  with open mouths
While we sip wine and watch the clouds
Boil across the setting sun
Another evening has begun
This time we spend is all I wish
That time to feed the fish.
And yet
We still have more to do
The humming birds are gathering
to battle for their food
Another glass of wine perhaps
While we're still in the mood

' .. While we sip wine and watch the clouds ~ Boil across the setting sun ~
Another evening has begun .. '

Such a beautiful picture of words .. oh my! That's where we should all be at the end of a day, calm and just - well, happy to be alive.

Wonderful, peaceful.

nice! "While we sip wine and watch the clouds
Boil across the setting sun" - love the idea of the clouds boiling across the sun - like smoke - very apposite - and the idea of the hummingbirds preparing for battle was very pleasing - great write!
