What is real

What is real

A Poem by Linda alexander

Are the fake flowers of this garden so real
Are the emotions pulling so hard towards my grave real
Does the pull of puppet man in real business real
Or what if nothing is real and everything is so unreal

Is your past present and future real
Is the shallow sigh when we walk is real
Is the sound of each breath real
Is the bursting laughter of infant and aged real

You posed some deep psychological questions dealing with human perception and consciousness throughout this poem. Things are real for a moment, just a moment, and then something else is real for a moment. Reality is as malleable as modeling clay. We perceive ephemeral realities. Perception is dynamic. We each exist for a moment, and then we exist as something else for a moment ad infinitum.

Sometimes you have to wonder, where does reality begin and end? Nicely pen'd Linda.

What is real and what is imagined? A question we have all asked ourselves through the years. I liked the stream of consciousness in this one, Linda. Lydi**

I love the deeply philosophical nature of this poem… so much of life is perception.
