I can't drop the ball now

Years of toil can't be in vain

I can't let the ball drop for any reason

I can't bear the weight of ball either

wow a tight spot to be in...finding it hard to continue what we are doing because of the pressure, and yet afraid to leave it, feeling that would be a worse choice...

on the title, did you mean Dilemma? that is how i read the poem.
