Piano starts, then the bass and drums

The voice comes I don’t know how or where
slides down the long notes and back up
the short ones, painting staccato in the air

The room moves with us I feel their heat they’re

Playing my heart out through a hole in my head
Telling the tales that the great ones wrote
Miracle and mystery with every note

The players so brilliant I can’t understand
They play their hearts out with their hands
Holding me moving me pushing me to be
