perpetually expecting something
that's not ever going to happen

you seem confused

forever demanding a thing
that is never going to appear

you feel alarmed

to a situation
you simply cannot avoid

in a place you cannot escape

it seems repetitive...

I very much enjoyed the seeming simplicity of this poem. Juggling the raw, felt feelings of fear, confusion and alarm in a place you cannot escape is no easy task. The last line was particularly good 'it seems repetitive, you are'. Lovely poem.

Or maybe we do things because of what we are. It's kind of an impossible question to answer. Which makes it interesting but ultimately irrelevant. A kind of mental masturbation.
