Come

Come

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

.

"
No one wants to read you
Write about tragedy all day
No one wants to read the vacuum
No one cares about your misery
To cry over the world and her disasters
endlessly
From your pit of despair
no my friend
That's not why we come here
We come for the sunshine
We come for the feeling
We come for the hope
Of something better
Through someone else
... that is why we continue
that is why we come, again
and again despite the mess
it is why we will always return
hope
is why people will want to read you

of course, as a writer i feel like this is about the work i produce. but even if i wasnt a writer, the line: 'people will want to read you' would vibrate in my chest. we want to be read; to be understood. bu the world needs to know about your best days not just your worst. vulnerability doesnt mean just talking about your trauma, it's also about getting to know what makes you happy. 'We come for the sunshine.' its fantastic work. i vibe with this and feel encouraged.
