Small Things

Small Things

A Poem by Davidgeo
"

over unfathomable distances

"
very very tiny decisions
tallied studiously over time
remembered forgotten
mimicked recycled
distorted fragmented
from the sum we become
very tiny people
tallied up over time
into very tiny species'
remembered forgotten
mimicked recycled
distorted fragmented
this math will continue
tallied down over time
a series of,
very tiny equations
remembered
distorted
fragmented
forgotten
over time
imperfectly
a very very tiny life
attempting infinity
we cannot forget this,
it is hard to remember

the small things

Brings to mind 🤔

"Little things mean a lot."
Yet, never put more impactingly than by Harold Kushner, with your title and perfect song choice (first saw the weirdly amazing "Puddles The Clown" on America's Got Talent several years back).
But, the impact from your words in Free Verse speak in a voice more personally awakening for me than the others combined … most especially:

"a very very tiny life
attempting infinity
we cannot forget this,
it is hard to remember

the small things" (Simply, brilliantly, true!)

Thank you again, David, for sharing your creatively impacting, uniquely original, poetry.
Never a dull moment on your site! ⁓ Richard🖌
