Any poetry that tackles this subject I find both raw and brave, and this is no exception. Mental illness is a thing I wish more people took seriously! Being in the behavioral health field, I see all too often people who struggle with both their illness and the stigma surrounding it.
Take for example, myself. I have really bad anxiety as a side effect from my ADHD, and my husband, who loves me, can only take so much before he himself gets tired. I try to explain that I dont have my anxious thoughts or feelings on purpose, but as someone who is healthy, he doesnt understand that, and thats a whole separate can of worms I have to deal with on top of my own. I find this scenario is the same for many, many people. The guilt, the shame, the frustration, the aggravation in both who you are and how people just don't understand.
Your piece is very reflective of this struggle, which is why I think I relate to it so deeply. It brings the reader on your private journey of hurting and healing, the constant uroboros of fighting things people will tell you aren't really there, but feel so real to you. It is a raw and honest piece that deserves quite a bit more attention.
And for whatever it is worth, despite us not talking all that often, I find you to be a really wonderful, creative individual, who is deserving of more than may be given credit for.
Exceptional work. Please never stop writing.

I'm particularly glad someone from the behavioral health field enjoys this one.

You have a particular type of insight into the subject.
The impending mental health crisis.
(i say impending because the current mental health crisis is about to get much worse... in one year, or less, like 10 months)

I wonder at your brain. You can come up with some strange stuff, but when it works it works. This one really works for me. Thanks.

I would prefer the brain to do this differently but reality is what it is at the moment. I don't like it. Reality is unhinged at the moment.
