when the end appears to be near

time becomes shorter

decisions become different

things seem inevitable

values erode

empathy decays

the base takes control,

then come explosives

people get to die

as time lingers on

as more people die

over and over

the end will seem near

again and again

we will accept the explosives

we will ignore the bodies
