My special mentor said not long ago
Have you read Isaiah 40:31?
“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.”
I knew I was waiting
Isaiah continued to guide
As eagles started appearing
From a friend, in a book, in the sky
Then on the back of a plug, to my surprise…
While trouble-shooting a failed TV
The steps were simple and direct:
Unplug
Wait
Plug
Wait
Reset
Wait
Call for assistance
You may need on-site help
Patience my dear, did you follow the steps?
I know you are angry, but the directions are very clear.
Did you wait the set amount of time?
Yes I know it’s just broke, you’ve said that five times
It should not be this stressful, it’s just a TV
And you skipped step two and step three
Please do something else while I repeat
Unplug
Wait...
It was then an eagle appeared
A logo on the back of the plug
In the midst of this nonsense I found a smile
This is not about fixing a TV
Life parallels
...Plug, wait, reset, wait, call for…
Assistance: Did you do all the steps before on-site help?
Wait
You may need a replacement part.
An eagle goes to the highest mount
To pull out old feathers, so new ones can grow.
I finally left to pull out the old, painfully one by one
But the day I arrived, yet another confirmation I’d fly high
As Isaiah 40:31, framed with an eagle, caught my eye.
