The Birth of HopeA Poem by Sarah JeanNever lose sight of the hope you have been given.In the womb of mother time, a promise and a curse grow intertwined, 'till her head falls back and her legs do spread, a reminder of the earthly skin she must shed, her falling hair mixes with demons and dirt, and her fingernails are filled with the sins of the earth,
with quivering defeat her legs whimper 'no', but she finishes the work that father fate bestows, and when her feeble legs do buckle and give way, stumbling out on fresh legs comes another day, and as this gift stumbles towards fresh light, its faceless mother recedes back into the night. © 2013 Sarah JeanReviews
