Into Your World

I waited for you. I waited long. Maybe an hour. Maybe a decade. Maybe it was just a moment as I watched the lights weaving their long threads into even longer shadows. I opened my eyes and you were there.

Radiant.

Smiling.

Watching me startle in bewilderment.

-When did you come back?

-I was always here.

-How come I didn't see you?

-You see me when you choose so, and once you do, I choose when to open your eyes. To see my world again. And then you see me.

-Will you stay?

-I will. Until I choose to walk away. To jump through the starlight. To visit places on the spirals of the galactic carousels. Then you will fall asleep again. To walk your silly world while dreaming of me.
