Midnight

Midnight

A Poem by Brandon Houser

Even at midnight
Silence in itself
Is a deafening scream
The sinister alley ways
The street lights
And everything in between

Your footsteps are haunted
With the very thought
You can't run from
Though you may be able to see
You are still in the dark
And waiting for something
To set you free

But the chill in your bones
Is all you know
And you may try to shake it
But you can't let that go
Silence could be your friend
But you let it be your foe

And that can make you shiver
What thoughts you can deliver
Even at midnight

We each earn our nightmares and midnights by surviving... and we learn to deal as best we can.

About
Not sure what to add here. I have been writing poems since I was 16. Saved much of it, lost some of it. I'm 51 now. Lately I have felt a need to get my voice out there. I guess like a lot of .. more..
