Winter Blinded

Winter Blinded

A Poem by Brandon Houser

Blinded in the light of winter
Seeing only what covers us
Or what the wind allows
Coldness and bitterness
Is easily felt
But what is real is
What lies in understanding
That the truth is evident
And passing through the darkness
As it buries the old
And welcomes what is new
A hidden realization
In the white of the snow
That we are all wounded
And naked for the world to see
Unclean yet innocent
Corrupt yet pure
Motionless yet forever flowing
Until we melt with the snow
And wait for the next storm
To help us rise again

About
Not sure what to add here. I have been writing poems since I was 16. Saved much of it, lost some of it. I'm 51 now. Lately I have felt a need to get my voice out there. I guess like a lot of .. more..
