Dancing On Words (Not Mine)

Dancing On Words (Not Mine)

A Poem by Brandon Houser

To dance in the shadows
where the current hums.
Dancing to watch the fire rise
in a pen whose words are not mine.
Yet I write.......
And with each stroke
the page is lava.
The page is a stranger
I will never touch.
But still I write.......
The pen finds curves
I will brush
Yet never travel on
But still I write.....
Words flow via heavy pulses
building from hidden wants
I don't know
But still I write......
And when the page is full,
there is a sigh.
These are not my words.
But what a ride

Hmmm, this is a thought-provoking read.

I can sense a bit of irresponsible cheekiness from the writer.

Very inviting, I almost took the title very literally…

But of course, the words are truly yours.

A really interesting poem but rather difficult read. I have read it through several times and I’m still not sure I understand what the poem means to you, but I did find what it means to me, and that is the beauty of poetry.

A quiet, glowing piece about being carried by a voice that feels beyond the self, the repeated line gives it a steady pulse, and the ending lands like a gentle exhale.

Not sure what to add here. I have been writing poems since I was 16. Saved much of it, lost some of it. I'm 51 now. Lately I have felt a need to get my voice out there. I guess like a lot of .. more..
