Grace

Grace

A Poem by Brandon Houser

Grace whispers in the night
When you can't find your way
Grace holds the debt
When you're afraid to pay

Grace sings the song
That doesn't have a singer
Grace holds your breath
When mercy wants to linger

Grace keeps you floating
On every raging river
Grace holds that current
For which you shake and quiver

Grace holds the honey
That falls from eager lips
Grace keeps the cup
That danger dares to sip

Grace makes you rise
When you feel you need to fall
Grace yells out your name
When you can't speak to call

Grace knows all the hunger
And tends to every flame
Grace controls the fire
And the thirst we beg to tame

Grace sways in the risk
Of every game of chance
Grace moves the body
When you felt you couldn't dance

Grace consumes.......
the aching
Grace lifts you.......
in the wind
Grace holds you.......
in the grip
Grace answers.......
in the end

Both excellent rhyming and unique imagery in this one. Sometimes grace is the only thing that can see us through in difficult times.

There’s a quiet light in these lines that lingers softly.

About
Not sure what to add here. I have been writing poems since I was 16. Saved much of it, lost some of it. I'm 51 now. Lately I have felt a need to get my voice out there. I guess like a lot of .. more..
