Searching

A Poem by Brandon Houser

In the unraveling of day,
who among us will join the search
for our tomorrow?

Is a hunt that never ends,
born of minds forever trained
to blindly follow?

Lost in tremors here and now,
can you see the future
in the past?

Can you satiate what lingers,
when you're running with the first
or the last?

Hi Brandon, this, to me, runs kind of Muckety muck for the sake of the rhyme.
I mean, I can make sense of it but readers are usually lazy.
I like to be bitten by the write.
RIP off my body parts and maul me with them.
Was that too much? lol
I appreciate the effort :)

I admire the twists and turns in this.

It throws the reader from one side to other.

Intriguing and curious for more.

Can you see the future in the past, you can learn from it and maybe it can set a new path forward. Maybe we do need both.

There’s a stillness in these questions that feels true. A quiet, honest search.

About
Not sure what to add here. I have been writing poems since I was 16. Saved much of it, lost some of it. I'm 51 now. Lately I have felt a need to get my voice out there. I guess like a lot of .. more..
