Morning

Morning

A Poem by Brandon Houser

I woke up late this morning
Walking towards the sun
Searching for nights left behind

Crashing through the daylight sky
A fool on the run
Afraid of what he will find

Shuffling through a cloudy maze
Lost in dreams of rain
Hiding in a shadow's glance

Waiting for the wind to come
And blow me away
Afloat in life's little dance

The morning starts unsettled and reflective, a soft breeze required not more inclement weather. Yes the hurts were there. Nicely composed stanzas Brandon.

I love the way the morning becomes a maze here... tender, searching, a little bruised.

Nice rhythm and I like the minimal use of rhyme including the use of assonance instead of rhyme in rain and away.
