I Saw Something Today

I Saw Something Today

A Poem by Logan _40k
"

A poem of unknown inspiration

"
I saw something today
On my way
To the palace built round my throne

A noble black cat
Slightly gray
Sitting by a dead bird, all alone

I took a few steps that way
To get closer
And he flicked his tail once

I stopped my walk
A mere poser
Yet he made no move to pounce

"May I honor your victory?"
I asked
He raised one feline brow

"Can you give it more honor?"
He tasked.
"If so, then tell me how?"

"I am a king, noble cat."
I offered.
"My throne is in my palace."

"You are a prisoner"
He scoffered
"Who drinks poison from a chalice."

"Know me well, noble friend."
I spoke sadly
"My power is the prison you surmise."

"I know myself more well"
He spoke gladly
"For it was root of my own demise."

1. I have no idea of the total meaning or imagery here, but just the words come out and made them a little more readable.
2. I know 'scoffered' is not a word... in this case it means to scoff
