Chapter 2: The Grand Meal (15-15 Alive) Day 2

I stayed in my room until the next morning, and I woke up to the sound of Samael once more. “Attention, students! Everyone head to the main hall at once! I have a reward for you guys! A reward! I repeat, a reward!”
There’s no reward in the world that could get us to get all cheery and happy over something as messed up as this. As we entered the main hall, Samael stood on a podium, waiting for us. “Ahem, it seems you’re all here! That being said, here’s your reward!”
He held up what seemed to be a check. “Ten million smackaroos! Isn’t that amazing!”
We all knew there would be a catch, and surely enough, Samael opened his mouth “But, I’m not just handing it out, no no no, that would
cost us way too much money, and with the way inflation is these days, eh heh…”
His voice suddenly got more hostile. “The point is you need to graduate to get it! And how do you graduate? Killing someone and getting out of here, of course!”
He seemingly teleported again leaving us with each other. After a while, we all agreed that none of us would dare to kill each other. If only we had been telling the truth, not a pointless, disgusting lie. “I hear someone spilled flour all over the cafeteria near the bottles,” Brady said, looking at Tristan. “Eh? It’s not my fault I can’t reach it!” “Bet your stomach knocked it over.” Tristan looked down in sadness.
Later in my room, I hear a knock at the door. As I cautiously opened the door, I let out a small sigh of relief when I figured out someone wasn’t trying to kill me right off the bat. Instead, it was Xavier, looking like he wanted to say something. I speak. “What is it?”
“Samael told me to tell everyone to head down to the cafeteria. He said there will be punishments for those who don’t listen. Goodbye.”
He quickly shut the door, likely in fear of being attacked. But why the
cafeteria? He likely made a student go tell everyone in case one of us decides to kill, which he sounds relatively happy about the idea of. The interaction with Xavier was a lot less like I thought it would be. He totally lost his tough-guy attitude and was essentially Samael’s slave. He followed things he said that were questionable, and Samael threatened him when he refused to follow his absurd commands.
Within five minutes everyone gathered around the cafeteria, and saw tons of food on metal skewers. When Samael finally let us have our first meal in the school, we ate like kings. “Mm,” said Sky, “Maybe this place won’t be so hellish if we have stuff like this every meal.” The food was amazing, everyone agreed. Well, everyone except Xander. He was still scarred from his interactions with Samael. Brady Young had grabbed a skewer and was chewing on it like mad, clearing the skewer with nothing left besides the blade. It was then I noticed the skewer was a lot sharper than other skewers I had seen.
Eventually, the next day came. Everyone gathered in the cafeteria for breakfast, and Brady was the center of attention. He was showing off a switchblade that was on the ground of the gym from day one. He slipped it
in his pocket and let out a small laugh. “I’ll see you fools later, I’m going to the bathroom.” “I, um,” said Sky. “Am gonna look for a way out.” Ten minutes later, breakfast came, and we began to eat. We lightly threw our plates in the sink. After that, the cafeteria went quiet as the lights flashed. Then something unexpected happened. The power went out.
By now there was a panic in the room, with people screaming. Eight minutes pass and people are still screaming. Thunk thunk thunk. Clink! Thunk thunk thunk. Tristan went up to me and spoke. “Nyah, save me, Roy, and whatever god is upon this earth, save me!” Jack spoke up next. “Aw, shut it, you fat pig.” Aaron laughed, and spoke too. “Hey, don’t be too harsh on him.” Kendrick smacked Jack with the back of his hand, leading to a fight that lasted all of 3 minutes. I couldn’t see anything though, because of the power outage. A noise caused Landon to stop Kendrick and speak. CRASH! “What was that?”Clink! CRASH! That was all we could hear. The lights finally went back on. Because of the bolted windows, there was absolutely no light during the time the power went out. When the lights came back on, four people were missing. Xavier Ronaro, Aisha Baker, Sky Turner, and Brady Young. “Find those four. Now,” I say, frantically
searching. And it wasn’t long before I found someone. As I lifted off one of the tablecloths draped across the table, the first thing I saw was a metal skewer from last night’s feast, once stuffed with kebabs, standing straight up. The next thing I saw… Was a pool of blood.
