Chapter 8: Once MoreA Chapter by LoganThe motives are having an effect on people...I woke up and groggily stepped out of bed, heading for the cafeteria. Aaron stopped me. “Well, hey, Roy!” “Aren’t you usually with Jack? Why do you need me? Leave me alone.” “In truth I have some… unfortunate news. Landon’s dead!” My heart started to race. What? No, that can’t be true! Just as I was about to open my mouth, Aaron laughed. “Ahahaha! That was just a lie! Your face, your face! Ahahaha! But, then again, that could be a lie too.” He said with a grin. I ignored him and quickened my pace. As I stepped inside the cafeteria, I saw Landon sitting at a far back table. Yeah, he lied. He was sitting with Sky, Halima, Mya, and Jack. Sky seemed like she still hadn’t recovered from the tapes, so I left them alone. Aaron stepped in, and seemed pretty happy about himself as he sat next to Jack. Aaron whispered something to him, and they left the room. I was about to follow them when Aisha walked up to me, seemingly having something to share. “Roy,” she began. “I found something quite interesting that you might want to see.” Something… Interesting? I reluctantly agreed and followed her over to the bathrooms on the first floor. “Go in there,” she said, pointing a finger to… The girls bathroom? “I… Uh…” “Trust me. You need to see this.” I reluctantly stepped inside, and she led me to the janitor’s closet, and she pushed a wall, revealing… A secret passage? We walked down a hallway, and it led directly to the electrical room. “That’s strange.” “I know,” Aisha replied. “I’m not too sure what it means, but it could have an impact later on.” “Yeah. Thanks, Aisha.” I returned to a frightened Sky, her expression never changing, clearly traumatized from the motive video. That was all that I did for the rest of the day, and night came. I couldn’t help but think of Samael. That sadistic little b*****d was going to do anything he could to make sure somebody dies, and I’m not having it. I peered out my window and saw Jack mopping the halls, which turned out to be a useless endeavor as they were carpeted. I began thinking again, this time about the mastermind. Is it really one of us? One of us designed this sick game and created Samael? As much as I despised admitting it, it seemed plausible. After that thought, I layed in my bed"unable to sleep. The next morning came, and with a yawn, I headed to the cafeteria, where everyone was, except for one person. Jack. And it was equally strange because Aaron was also in the cafeteria, even though he never left Jack’s side. “Aaron, where’s jack?” He glanced in my direction. “Don’t know, nor do I really care.” Huh? Did they have a falling out? “Just kidding. I’m already bored without him. Go get him, Roy, unless you want me to sever your head.” Partially out of fear, I went to search for Jack with Landon, Sky, Mya, Aisha, Aaron, and Kendrick. We cleared the first floor almost instantaneously, as there was nowhere to hide a tall body like Jack had, if he had been killed. Sky called out to him by name to no avail. We came to the second floor. He was nowhere to be found in the library, or the store, or the playground. We had one more place to check. The workout room. I stood outside the door, hesitating as I slid my hand onto the cool, metal doorknob. What’s this… Looming feeling of dread in the air? True, Jack had never been nice to us, but I wasn’t sure if I wanted to see what was beyond that door. As I was lost in thought, Landon moved my hand, and swiftly opened the door.
