Strange Geogrphics

What the world might look like in the mind of people with different minds.

There's night blooming jasmine

In an abandoned asylum

In and overgrown forest

In a lobotomized brain

There's a morning mist

In a forgotten quarry

A lone paradise

In a multiple personality

There's a welcoming light

In the starry heavens

Just out of reach

After hours of shock therapy

There's a rust colored run off

Poisoning a beautiful lake

Arising a deep depression

In the eyes of a sociopath

There's a desk in an office

Seating a megalomanic doctor

With alternate intentions

Trying to satiate his visceral lust

Just a poem inspired by looking at pictures of abandoned places.

Very interesting, it sounds like maybe the place was arranged to be perceived as that, or maybe that is what the espectators where programmed to expect before they got there.

Each paragraph is designated to a specific condition etc...I was exploring the dark. It's meant to be taken in a way that makes the reader feel how awful it was for someone to be in an asylum. And how some doctors weren't good doctors.

My thought was how people were tortured or given treatments that never worked n the doctors that were bad. I thought the idea went well with what I was researching; abandoned places. The time in history of asylums was terrible and the ill were treated terrible.

I see. Having read your comments the poem has become more meaningful to me now. The sickness and treatment of mind has always been difficult subject. I've no experience of such things other than the movies, but they do still exist; i guess.

I think its much better these days. The movies do make it seem terrible though. I just read this article on how many of the asylums were so over crowded that patients would perish and for days no one would notice. The conditions were awful! Thanks for reading and taking your time on this one! :)
