The SirenA Poem by S. Waldo
Cascading down the ivory back
Deep golden waves blanketed her body. Her slim figure curved towards the sea Vanishing away to cerulean scales of sapphires. Eyes, like the ocean, from raging to peaceful Looked out over the crests at the awaiting ships. She is seductive as a temptress, quiet as a guppy Calm like the reflecting pools, and angrier than the riptides. A voice of musical melodies lured all creatures To the watery sacrifices to those of Poseidon. Her form may change from fins to feet Striding along the sand, looking for fresh meat. The siren would wait, patient with lust Her lover coming closer, with every waking hour. She sings her song of love, of passion Yet hidden behind are natures of lustful attraction. Sailors take heed, she is undeniably irresistible Further and further in they are drawn To their midnight murky graves By the sorceress within those magnificent waves. © 2015 S. Waldo |
