A Ghost Walks

wings of broken crosses beat
within a willow’s sigh,
as rotting walls buried low
speak in rhyme that verses by.

i hear the rising thunder
that rocks the bells to sing
of believers under weeds,
broken stones, and faceless names.

with naked stare
of watered eye,
i ebb alone
‘neath shading skies.
