If I should wake
To find I'd become
a jade shard of shame
Winking in the resuming sun
Awaiting a sweeping breeze.

An honourable finale -
To wipe clean the slate of minds
When the past pecks at their door,
And a much more moral death it would be
Than those of the haggardly sprawled.
