Clatter is gone, the feelings have no direction
I have accomplished the task and need protection
a problem to solve, a mess to clean, a difficult question?

I’m searching aimlessly for something.  Writing?
Words are not enough, not too exciting
No, not enough and it is frightening

A drink and perhaps just nod my head to this song.
They say I am “amazing” but they are wrong.
I run fast and hard and last long but I am not strong.

Oh yes, but once they said that I was mad, a crazy girl, a dying girl
No, not this strong amazing thing but a shriveled crying girl
A skinny, sick, and lying to stay there girl

Altruistic medicine takes me away and saves me
sanctioning to see the brave me
keeping them from betraying me

I will empower the weak and walk with the lost
I will hold the light in the dark as we walk
I will be the strong one.
