Listen

A quick short poem I wrote to help deal with some unwanted drama.

I told myself not too, 

That I needed more time.

I shouldn't of listened to you,

I shouldn't of put my heart on the line.

Now here I am, again, hurt and scared

These feelings are too familiar for me

Makes me wonder why I even cared

How come I didn't foresee? 

Oh, But I did see!

'Never doubt a woman's intuition'

A saying I cant disagree

I should have just listened

To what my own heart had to say

Wait and let time heal

But I did things my own way

Now, I'm left to deal

I should have just listened.

Now no ones to blame

I should have just listened.

Who knows what I could have became!

Do you play chess perchance? If so, eventually you will play at the level of your peers - doesn't leave a lot of room to play better does it?

I did listen to this one... aloud... three times through. It has the emotonal content and impact. I could comment on that.

Ah, the realization that maybe if you had listened you could have spared yourself some pain. But we rarely listen to others outside of what our heart wants, as it should be!
