NYC....

NYC....

A Poem by Brad
"

some more travel thoughts...

"

this was where i belonged

high towers blocking the sun

a slight fear within the populace

of an incident in september

brought them all together

a starbucks

on every corner

artists still in greenwich

beautiful dego women

calling me into their bistros

in little italy

the hole where twins

once stood

saddens my heart

but the streets alive

hustle and bustle

horns, sirens, cell phones

all at one time

yet i find peace here

i'm whoever i want to be

here in the Big Apple

pubs, music, art

how can i ask for more

the deli's, the accents,

the variety of cultures

enmeshed without ignorance

from the New Yorker

room 3414 i can see the Empire State Building

colored for christmas

through a 14 by 2 window

lost i am here

lost at home

first and the last

the romance

the inspiration

nestled in the busy...

Author's Note

Brad
i used to live in queens for a time...but too young to remember...i came back 3 times, once when i was trying to be jack kerouac and traveled around after college, again when i was asked to volunteer by the police dept i worked for to help out post 9-11, and the third time was to see some old friends from that visit and meet up with a girl from london.
