Chris Cornell

Chris Cornell

A Poem by Elli🦝
"

This is a poem I wrote about the death of Chris Cornell, lead singer in both Soundgarden and Audio slave, singing alongside Eddie Vedder in Temple of the Dog. It low-key sucks

"
All I could think about was how I could’ve done better
Sitting in my bathroom, looking at the crack above the door
The exercise band in my hand
I had disappointed many in my life

“I am just tired.”
The last words my wife will ever hear from me
I love you so
And I wish I could’ve shown it better.

Time flies by
Thoughts running through my head
Is it worth it?
Maybe it’s better on the other side

As the last breath leaves my mouth
I think back to my wife’s worried tone on the phone
Her shaky “I love you”
Now I wish I would’ve said it back
