If you want

If you wanted, I would stay up all night with you. Maybe just sitting on your bed, talking over the phone, or waiting for the call that you couldn't sleep, then sleep after I get the good morning text. Just because I know you can't fall asleep if you don't know if anyone you can talk to is awake. I'll stay up a little after you fall asleep, just in case you wake up. Before I fall asleep after being yelled at by you to go to sleep, I make sure you know you can wake me up if you can't.

If you wanted, I'd run a bath for you every day. Not a shower, because I know you don't like them. I'll help you clean, washing your back or your hair. I'd do whatever you needed me to. I'd buy you a bunch of things you wanted for it, whether it's bath salts or bath balms. I'd get all your favorite scents, or all your favorite colors, and I'll surprise you with them when you start complaining about running out. All because I know your baths are your time to relax and get into your own personal world. I'd leave if you told me to, stay if you wanted me to.

If you wanted, I would leave my house late at night, walk or drive to your house. I'd sit in bed with you, or let you do my hair and makeup until you're tired. And I'd stay until morning, knowing I'd get in trouble. We could sit downstairs on the couch with the animals, watch a movie. And if you fell asleep, I'd carry you back to bed and clean whatever mess we made. You don't like being alone, and you hate when people leave, or hang up, after you fall asleep.

If you wanted, I'd leave you alone. Stop texting and stop checking in. I'd leave your family alone and stop telling you I loved you. I'd wait for you to come back, but only if you wanted. I'd delete the photos you would ask me to delete, and pretend I didn't love you as hard as I did. Just because I know you have your times where you feel like you're being suffocated by everyone. I'd wait in my room, in crowded events, checking my phone every minute of every day until I get the, "I'm sorry" text.

If you wanted, I'd come back. Stay until you tell me to leave. I'll let you come over and borrow clothes if you didn't bring any. I'd sing disney songs with you, knowing I sound horrible, and we could joke about how the characters were us. I'd rewatch a movie you made me watch not too long ago, listen to you point everything out as if I didn't already know. Because I love you, and I'd stay and wait as long as you needed me to.

And if you wanted, I'd drive you all the way out of state, move out of the country with you. I'd buy the ring you pointed at, not with you knowing of course. I'd take you wherever you wanted to go, and propose in a place with very little people, take photos and not show them online until you say I can. All because I know how you feel about this place, and I know you don't like all the attention.

I'd leave if you wanted, stay if you needed. I love you until you tell me not to, and wait until you tell me to stop.
