Just Two MinutesA Poem by VanessaPoetry on the ache of waiting- being ill, wishing for care and realising how family responsibilities change with time.A raw expression of loneliness , waiting and unspoken feelings.
"Just Two Minutes"..
By Sobiya Amin I lay in silence, aching deep, With fevered brow and eyes that weep. A cough, a throb, a heavy head, While longing words remain unsaid. You came from work, the evening late, I watched the hallway, held my wait. Hoped you'd glance and ask, just so" "How are you?" but no... no show. You passed me by, walked straight ahead, While tears unspoken gently bled. Hours drifted, shadows grew, Still I waited"still for you. I know your world has others now, A wife, kids first"you made that vow. And I don’t fight what must be true, But where am I inside of you? Two minutes"was that too much to spare? I'm in this house, I'm right there. You weren’t far, just a door away, Yet not a moment came my way. Ah, how my heart recalls the time, Before 2021’s climb. You’d rush to me, drop all your pace, Sit close, concern upon your face. No longer do I wait for care, No doctor’s trip, no urgent stare. I know you’re busy, life’s moved on" But still I waited… though hope is gone. Just two minutes"that’s all I sought, For love once lived and still not forgot © 2026 Vanessa |
