Well...
I'd love to give you the politically correct and socially acceptable response and say that it is God's will, The Lord tests us from time to time, but that would be a load of BS.
I really adore your little poem Luis, it stirs the heart and makes us ask why, but there is no simple answer.
Let us ask instead, what can we do?

Luis, I think you have a big heart and I think you do your part just by making us think. :)

If only more people took the time to look, to care, to speak out, to speak up, to lend a hand, to extend their heart, there would be less suffering.. But it is easier to turn a blind eye, to continue on your normal everyday, selfish lives, ignoring the pain and struggles of others than it is to CARE.. I love that you seek answers to this question... I may not know the answer, and refuse to believe that it is God's will that people must suffer, I do know this, however: I do what I can with what I have to help those I can.. I don't go around with blinders on to the pain of others, and I open my heart to those in need.. Very beautiful write which shows us the depths of emotion and light contained in your diverse soul.. the tone, the emotion, the flow, the construction, and the word choice are exquisite as usual.. well done..

No, it is definitely not like the fairy tale.
This is so thought-provoking and tragically beautiful with the rhyming, it makes sure to hammer itself in my mind.

Oh you're welcome, it's such an honor to be able to read your amazing writing!
Great poem, very thought provoking! I tend to think it's that people are completely lacking in compassion for each other. It's a sad fact that we can often be apathetic to another's suffering. Nicely written!
