Dawn is a Broken PromiseA Poem by SophieIt is not twilight, not dusk, nor midnight, the saddest time of day, is dawn.
Yes, the birds may start their song, and maybe the crickets chirp along, maybe the sun begins to rise, but that's just it, dawn is a broken promise.
“Tomorrow's a new day, tomorrow will be better,” Dawn proves you wrong, She fools you with birdsong, and a small, pitiful sun. Dawn is the start of a day, when you are forced to remember everything you tried to forget, everything you regret.
Night is better, the stars peek out, and you dwell in dreams in which you have no memories.
Dawn is a lie, a broken promise, don't let her fool you. Join the night. © 2012 SophieAuthor's Note
